No, and on most paths they do not need a connection either. An NFC tap to an Android phone, an NFC tag, a QR scan, AirDrop or Quick Share drops your contact straight into their address book with nothing installed and nothing online, exactly like handing over a paper card. An iPhone receiving a tap, or anyone opening your web link, sees your card in the browser instead, where one tap saves it. This is AtlasLinq's key advantage over other digital business card apps.

No: the phone already in your pocket is the card. You share by tapping phones, showing a QR code, or sending a link. If you want something physical, write your profile onto any standard NFC sticker or tag, including one stuck to a card you already own, and it taps like a regular business card from then on. We do not sell tags and you do not need one, so there is no hardware to buy from anyone and nothing locked to us.

Most of them sell you a physical card and build the app around it. We sell no hardware at all, so the phone already in your pocket is the card. Past that: Object Cards give physical things a card of their own, tags you write are password-locked so a stranger cannot repoint them, your QR code can carry the contact itself instead of a link, and the scanner reads paper cards on your device rather than uploading them. Recipients needing no app is true of us, but it is true of most of this category too, so it is not really a reason to pick one over another.

Your card keeps working. Dropping back to Essential does not delete profiles you have already made and does not take your card offline: you lose the paid extras, like reading your leads and the custom QR styling, rather than the card itself. Object cards behave the same way deliberately. If a team's add-on lapses, the cards already out in the world keep resolving and only new ones are blocked, because a tag stuck to a hotel room door cannot be recalled.

Usually, and you may not have to throw anything away. If you own a physical NFC card or tag from another service, check whether it is writable. Many are, and if yours is, your AtlasLinq profile can be written straight onto it, so you keep the object you already paid for. Contacts are a separate question: paper cards you have collected can be scanned in with the camera, but there is no bulk import from another provider's account, so anything sitting in one has to be exported from their side first. Essential is free, so you can build the card and compare the two before moving anything.

Tap your phone to an NFC tag, or to another Android phone. On Android, AtlasLinq uses Host Card Emulation to hand your contact straight across, so it lands in their phone's address book without either of you opening an app. Anyone can receive your card on any phone by scanning your QR code, opening your link, or tapping a tag you have written.

You can see that your card was viewed and that a contact was saved, not who did it. Nobody has to identify themselves to look at a card, so the dashboard reports counts, methods and timing: views, saves counted separately from views, a 7-day activity chart, your most active connections, and which sharing method actually worked. If you want a name attached, that comes from the capture form on your share page, where the visitor chooses to leave one.

Phone-to-phone NFC tap is an Android capability, because Apple does not open that particular radio mode to other apps. Everything else works on both: writing your card to an NFC tag, QR codes, AirDrop and Quick Share, and web links. The people you share with can be on any phone, including iPhone, since QR codes and web links open in any browser and iPhones can read a tag you have written.

AtlasLinq supports NTAG213 (144 bytes), NTAG215 (504 bytes), and NTAG216 (888 bytes) NFC tags. The app auto-detects tag capacity and optimizes the payload. NTAG215 or NTAG216 are recommended for full vCard support with profile URL.

Yes, and plenty of people never use it. QR codes, web links, AirDrop and Quick Share all work without touching NFC, and so does scanning paper cards you are handed. NFC is the quickest route when both phones support it, but nothing here depends on it.

Yes, though they are built for different jobs. NameDrop, on iOS 17 and later, swaps contact details between two iPhones held close together. It is quick, it is already on the phone, and if that covers what you need then it is enough. It also only works iPhone to iPhone, sends your default contact card rather than anything you have designed, and tells you nothing afterwards. AtlasLinq works across both platforms, puts a card you control in front of the other person, and records that the exchange happened.

Only an iPhone receiving a tap, or someone opening your web link, needs to be online.

Usually not. If they tap an Android phone, tap an NFC tag you have written, scan your QR code, or receive it by AirDrop or Quick Share, your contact saves straight into their phone with no connection and no app. That is the same as handing over a paper card, which is the point. The two exceptions are an iPhone receiving an NFC tap and anyone opening your web link, because both go through the browser, and those do need a connection. Your saved contact also carries your card link inside it, so they end up with both.

AtlasLinq tracks 58 milestones across four categories: sharing, connections, activity streaks, and a set of one-off special ones. They unlock as you use the app and they live in Insights. Nothing is locked behind them and they change nothing about how the app works, so they are a record of what you have done rather than a reason to do it.

Yes. Point the camera at a printed card and the scanner reads the name, title, company, phone numbers, emails and address off it, front and back when there are details on both. It runs on your device rather than uploading the photo, and each field comes back with a confidence score so you can see what it was unsure about before you save it. If the card carries its own QR code, that gets read directly instead of guessed at.

Yes. Set the colors, put a logo or your initials in the middle, pick the size and the error-correction level, and add a border or a background tint. There is one setting worth knowing about beyond the look: your QR can carry the contact itself rather than a link, which is what lets a scan save you on a phone with no signal.

Alongside your name, role, company and the usual contact fields, a card carries typed links that do something rather than just open a page: a booking link, a payment link, a review link, a document, a video, directions, a WhatsApp thread, and a Wi-Fi network the other person can join by tapping it. There is a crypto address type as well, checked for the right format before it saves, so a mistyped address does not go out on your card. Essential carries 3 of these links and Pro carries 10.

Every exchange, in one list: cards you sent, cards you received, and tags you wrote. Each entry records how it happened, when, and where you were at the time, and tag entries also note which tag it was and how much room was on it. Paper cards you scanned keep their photos and any notes you added next to the contact that was pulled off them. It lives on your device, and nothing on any plan clears it out later, which is what gives the insights screen something to count.

Here is the specific version rather than a reassurance. Everything travelling between your device and our servers goes over TLS. Your profiles live on your device first and sync from there. You choose field by field what appears on a public card, and hidden fields are removed on the server, so they never reach the page at all. Sign-in runs through Google, Apple, or a one-time code to your phone, which means we never handle a password of yours. You can export everything or delete your account from Settings.

Yes, field by field, and separately on each profile. Anything you hide is stripped on the server before the page is built, so it is not sitting in the page source waiting to be found. You can also keep a profile out of search results. What you cannot control is who a recipient shows your card to once they have saved it, which is true of a paper card as well.

Yes. You can export your data whenever you want, and a deletion request is processed within 30 days. We do not sell personal information. The Privacy Policy sets out what we collect, why we collect it, and which subprocessors handle any of it.

Yes. You can delete your account at any time through Settings. This permanently removes all your cloud data within 30 days. Local data can be cleared immediately. Account deletion cannot be undone.

No. The scanner reads the card on your phone. The photo is not uploaded and the text taken off it is not sent away to be interpreted. One piece of it does travel: the model that works out which line is a name and which is a job title downloads once per language, the first time you have a connection. If that model is missing, on a fresh install that has never been online, the scanner falls back to reading the card with local pattern matching instead, so a scan at an event with no signal still works.

Real estate agents can share property listings, contact info, and booking links via NFC tap at showings. Attach NFC tags to 'For Sale' signs or open house materials. Track which properties generate the most contact exchanges.

Events are where it earns its keep, starting with the fact that you cannot run out. Share by tap or QR from the stand, put a code on a badge or a slide, let people leave their details through the capture form on your card, and look afterwards at which method actually worked and how many saves the day produced. The QR carrying the contact itself matters more here than anywhere else, because a hall full of people is exactly where the signal gives up.

It is one of the more common uses. A card can hold your portfolio, a booking page, a video, a document and your socials alongside the usual contact details, so one link covers work that lives in several places. Yes. An admin builds one company template and every member's card inherits it, and the fields that have to stay consistent can be locked so nobody edits them away. Departments can carry their own branding underneath that. Invites, role changes and removals are all recorded, and when someone leaves, their branded card stops resolving.

From there you can manage your team (invite members, organize them into departments, and grant read-only viewer access), configure your company card and reusable branded templates, create object cards for physical things, and review team-wide analytics, with an at-a-glance Overview plus dedicated Profiles and Objects views. When you create an Enterprise team, AtlasLinq generates a company directory page at atlaslinq.com/share/yourco and a branded card for each team member at atlaslinq.com/share/yourco/membername. Every member card carries your company branding automatically: logo, colors, and locked company fields are controlled by the admin.

Essential shows you how many are waiting; Pro opens the 25 most recent; Enterprise is unlimited across the entire team. View and export leads from the Leads screen in the app.
